We are pleased to confirm that Dixon Ward is still fully operational and can assist with the updating and preparation of Wills and Codicils, preparing Lasting Powers of Attorney and assisting with the administration of Estates during these uncertain times surrounding the Covid-19 virus.

Whether you wish to make a Will for the first time or to review or make some small amendments to your existing Will, our private client solicitors can advise you on the best structure for your Will, talk you through the Will drafting process and give you advice on the operation of inheritance tax and lifetime planning.

Solicitors specialising in the preparation of Wills have been classified as key workers by the Ministry of Justice. As such, a small number of our highly experienced private client team continue to operate from our office in central Richmond, with other Solicitors and support staff working remotely.

Video or telephone appointments, office appointments and home visits are available as required. We are attempting however to help as many of our clients as possible remotely. We have robust and secure systems in place that enable us to continue to provide a high standard of service to our clients.

Where a meeting in person is necessary, we will follow the strictest safeguarding measures to ensure the safety of both our staff and clients and have our offices well set up for that.

Once you are satisfied with your draft Will, we can advise you on signing your Will. The current rules for a valid Will mean that a Will must be signed in the presence of two witnesses – the witnesses must be adults, be independent and not be beneficiaries under the Will. Again, we have set up our offices to allow that process to be carried out safely for all involved.
